Writing Services

I have experience writing both fiction and non-fiction, including creative writing, blog writing and article writing. For fictional works, I specialise in:
- Realism
- Romance
- Light Fantasy
For non-fiction work, I specialise in:
- STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics)
- ML/AI
- Linguistics and Languages
However, I can and will do requests outside these areas, so feel free to give my services a try!I will do:
- Fanfictions
- OCs
- Technical pieces
- Reviews
- Website articles
I won't do:
- NSFW
- Gore and extreme violence
- Your homework (no school reports, thesis, book assignments, etc.)
Note that I reserve the right to turn down requests if I am not comfortable with the work given. After discussing with you and receiving payment, I will write up a first draft to get feedback for my ideas and the more macro aspects of the story. After the first round of editing, minor revisions are acceptable, but major edits or rewrites may incur an additional charge, so if there's anything you don't like about the first draft, please voice it out!The time taken to fulfil each order will depend on the length, as well as my schedule. As a rough estimate, it should take around 3 days for every 500 words for fiction commissions. I will need more time for non-fiction commissions (time needed to research and cross-check), but as a very rough estimate, it should take around 4 or 5 days for every 500 words.

Editing Services

I also offer proofreading and copyediting services for a variety of works, including creative writing, article writing and academic writing.Proofreading vs. CopyeditingProofreading mostly involves picking out minor errors in a final draft, such as spelling errors, capitalisation errors, punctuation errors and grammatical errors.Copyediting involves a more thorough editing process, where consistency, sentence flow, word choice, cohesion, clarity and concision are checked and corrected.Do note that I do not do developmental editing (a more macro form of editing where major plot holes, major inconsistencies, etc. are checked for) or substantial edits (complete rewriting, addition of text, etc.).Similarly, for each order, the length that I will take will depend on the length, as well as my schedule. As a rough estimate, it should take around 1-2 days for every 500 words to proofread, and slightly more for copyediting.

Writing Lessons

I now offer writing tutoring services! Whether you're looking to upskill yourself for future lines of work, school, or even to become a commission writer yourself, anyone with an interest in writing can benefit from a little guidance. For a competitive price, you too can gain a greater command of language and unlock your own potential!Lessons can either be online or in person for Singaporean students. To find out more or to book your first lesson, do contact me to work out the details!

My Philosophy

From my experiences in school, I understand first-hand how educational systems can fail to equip students with the skills they need to author engaging prose of their own. From having to cover a broad curriculum and attend to numerous students at once, students rarely get the dedicated attention necessary to hone their writing craft. As a result, they often have to rely on memorising model essays, passages, and copy-paste formulae to write "well" enough for a high grade. This often leads otherwise brilliant writers astray from being the independent writers they could be, plagued with soulless writing even to adulthood. If you've ever felt incapable of writing a persuasive paragraph without Chat-GPT telling you what to say, maybe you've fallen victim to this as well! There are many tutors who may simply seek to supplement your array of model essays while glossing over techniques, or try to have you remember a myriad different literary techniques to use religiously. While they may seem to produce quick results, I believe in letting your inner child guide your writing hand. Working together with me for a personal experience, you'll get to explore the nature of language for yourself and forge your own path forwards!

Who is This For?

I cater to a wide range of prospective students who may be:
- Struggling with writing essays in school (≥13 years old)
- Looking to get into creative work (authors, freelancers, etc.)
- Budding authors feeling held back
- Simply interested in writing!
You will benefit best if you:
- Have at least a basic understanding of English grammar and vocabulary (B1-B2)
- Are willing to actively participate in lessons
- Are willing to discover and not be spoon-fed
What you can expect:
- Games and fun exercises
- Regular feedback
- Explanation with exploration, not lectures
- Heavy focus on hands-on learning
To be transparent, if you do work best with memorising passages and vocabulary lists, or if you prefer lecture-style lessons (though I do sometimes hold webinars), I may not be the right tutor for you. If you aren't sure, contact me for a free consultation or a $15 USD 1 hour trial lesson!
